Program presented by VFW and the American Legion members by the Veteran's Memorial

An evening of music, featuring classically trained musicians: Aaron White, Sterling, IL., Jon James, Sterling, IL., Elizabeth Judd-Horn, Sterling, IL., Mark Dempsey, Dixon, Il., Mark Bressler, Mt. Carroll, IL. A variety of music will be featured for everyone to enjoy. Imagine a 12 course meal for the ear, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, until you are full without the headache of a large dinner tab!

Enjoy a movie on the outdoor large screen. Free popcorn for attendees; live music; food, games and prizes provided by the many sponsors of the event

Music provided by Savanna's own Roadrunner's. Bring your dancing shoes, lawn chair and cooler.  Tickets are available from any volunteer fireman or at the door. Proceeds go to the purchase of new equipment. Doors open at 6 p.m. Food and soft drinks available for purchase.

This traveling exhibition has been developed by the National Constitution Center, Philadelphia, and the American Library Association Public Programs Office, with generous support of the National Endowment for the Humanities and through cooperation with the Savanna Public Library

Carroll County Stitches & Blooms Garden Walk

The Carroll County Garden Walk will be held Sat June 29th from 10am – 5pm and Sun June 30th from 10am – 2pm at Lake Carroll located on Payne Rd 5 miles north of Lanark on Rt 73 and 6 miles south of Pearl City. The theme this year is Stitches & Blooms and every stop will feature quilt & garden displays. Several of the gardens are on lake front properties and offer beautiful views of the lake as well as unique gardens. Some offer ponds and others are in a wooded atmosphere and feature varieties of hostas, lilies, ferns and wild flowers. Sunny country gardens take on the flavor of prairie plants and many of the gardeners practice organic gardening. Tickets are $10.00 each and are available for advanced purchase at Twice Told Tales located at 504 W IL Rt 64 in Lanark. On the days of the event, tickets and maps will be available at the Gate House entrance to Lake Carroll and at the Lake Carroll Golf Course.

Today, it is celebrated in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Central America through bird festivals and bird walks, education programs, and Bird Day! We invite you to join us in this important celebration.
