'Chocolate Tour'

Taste chocolates from all over the world, learn to cook gourmet recipes featuring chocolate and eat delicious food! This cooking class will be taught by Chef Donna Duvall and will be held in Mt. Carroll. The cost is $95 per person.
We offer culinary adventures in Northwest Illinois! Tour local sustainable farms, participate in a hands-on cooking class with dynamic chefs in the Learn Great Foods Kitchen, and sit down to gourmet organic dinners. In 2008, Sustainable Farm Tours are offered April through October.

Held at the Ingersoll Wetlands Learning Center in rural Thomson. The 2008 theme, Tundra to Tropics: Connecting Birds, Habitats and People provides a wonderful opportunity to recognize the important habitats in your locale and the groups and individuals that contribute to their protection.
Events include:
7:30am - Guided Bird Walk. Dress for the weather and bring your binoculars.
9:30am - Bus Tour of Lost Mound Unit of Upper Mississippi River National Fish & Wildlife Refuge (call to register as space is limited)
12:30pm - Program on Using Native Plants in Landscaping
1:30pm - Backyard Bird Feeders - participants will learn how to make bird feeders using everyday items.
Lunch will be provided by Friends of the Upper Miss. Refuge.

Mayfest 5k Walk/Run Benefit at 8:00 AM ( proceeds to benefit the Carroll County Relay For Life). Registration $15.00 before May 16, (includes t-shirt and eligibility for door prizes) after May 16 $15.00 (includes t-shirt while supplies last). Prizes awarded to the 1st male finisher, 1st female finisher and the 1st Mt. Carroll finisher.
