Experience the delicious wines of several Northern Illinois wineries while taking a tour through our backyard and our neighbors. Northwest Illinois is well known for its award winning wineries and vineyards and Carroll County offers a great location for overnight lodging while you explore the wineries and the countryside.  Lodging information can be found at www.gocarrollcounty.com/lodging
While we have created a two day self guided driving tour through the scenic back roads of counties in Northern Illinois and Eastern Iowa there is enough information provided that you can pick and choose your stops or visit us a second time to cover all the destinations.

This scenic drive through Carroll, Stephenson and JoDaviess Counties takes you to five uniquely different wineries including one of the newest wineries in Illinois, Silver Moon Winery.  Each individual stop provides samplings of their award winning wines.

Directions start from Silver Moon Winery and end at Massbach Winery – mileage is 108 miles.

The second leg of our tour takes you through the Illinois Counties of Carroll, Ogle and Henry and the Iowa County of Scott.  You will visit two distinctly different wineries, a Distillery and a Stillroom.  Each site provides gift shops so you can take home your favorite varieties.

Driving directions start at The Driftless Area Stillroom and end at Hailey’s Winery & Vineyard – mileage is 149 miles.
